One of the ways that gun ownership has been negatively stigmatized in our country is through a negative twist to what was a simple and sincere campaign that encouraged parents to ask about gun storage before play dates or sleepovers. The “ASK Campaign” became a weaponized political tool and far too many gun owners react negatively to what should be seen as opportunity to demonstrate responsibility and have positive conversations. Learn more about how you can, and should, talk with other parents about gun storage in this article over at 2AO.org.
I recently took an opportunity to talk about the importance of these conversations with a local “left leaning” newspaper in Denver, you can read that fairly written article HERE.
Talking with other parents in your community about gun responsibility is a great way to be a grassroots gun rights advocate.
