The “ASK Campaign” became a weaponized political tool and far too many gun owners react negatively to what should be seen as opportunity to demonstrate responsibility and have positive conversations
I was cleaning The Beast’s air filters this afternoon and I thought about the picture I took with the 5.56 AR15 inside the engine compartment of my slightly-tamer sedan. That picture was really popular in the gun world social media, because I made the point that the 450+ horsepower engine can push that car to more than twice the highest legal posted speed limit in the country… yet, no one was trying to take it away from me.
So, lets take a real look at issues of licensing, training and power in regard to cars & guns…
I took a few minutes yesterday to really break down the viral “RSO Grabs Gun!” video from a training standpoint AND a political one. You can see the Video at my Youtube Channel. Things to Consider: Training: Should RSOs and Instructors be prepared to control shooters physically? Do you think they generally are? Politics: …
A “manifesto” ? Really, Rob? Yes… a damn Manifesto! It’s the right word… I checked three dictionaries, including one actual paper one! ***** I think it is imperative that we have more dialogue in our Country about Gun Rights Issues. Conversations needs to happen most with people who don’t understand our …
I want to have the most comprehensive list of clear positions on Gun Rights Issues, Laws and Policies of any organization on either side of the Gun Responsibility Issue. I think we’ve done a good job to get us started!
CHICAGO – Second Amendment Organization is pleased to announce that Rob Pincus has joined our Board of Directors and has accepted the role of Executive Vice President.
I’ve been wanting to get back into producing my own audio content and leapt at the opportunity to record a conversation with two friends who are spending time thinking and talking about important issues that affect the firearms community, Mike Sodini and Maj Toure. The unscripted and unplanned dialogue revolved around the work that both men are doing to educate and raise awareness about responsibility, tragedy prevention, legal gun ownership and the stigma that can accompany gun ownership. Maj is the founder of Black Gun Matter and Mike recently launched a non-profit organization intended to collaborate with mental health professionals to address a variety of issues.
If you aren’t encouraging all the gun owners you know to be responsible ones, you may very literally be endangering yourself and those you care about… you may also be endangering our right to keep and bear arms.
ust be distracting us. What good is the right to carry a gun in a State that restricts the possession of the type of gun you carry, the type of ammunition you rely on or the magazines you load? Is National Reciprocity really a win if it replaces the current system in your State that serves you well, increases costs and extends waiting times? The fact is that “National Reciprocity” isn’t even on the table for a RKBA Purist, as the whole permitting process undermines the Constitutionally Protected Right to Keep and Bear Arms. What we should be talking about is National Right to Carry, not a new or expanded version of the current infringement.
It’s not time to cave to emotional and political pressure, but it’s also not a time to over-simplify with rhetoric and the same old talking points. We need articulate arguments, reasonable discussions and Real Leaders willing to put in the work to not only defend, but also continue to regain our currently infringed gun rights.
